About Dr. Ruth Lieu
Clinical Training
Dr. Ruth Lieu received her clinical training in some of the most selective training hospitals and clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her clinical skills were honed through providing care to individuals with different levels of symptom severity, diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds, and variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
Napa State Hospital – Napa State is one of the top APA (American Psychological Association) accredited internships in the Bay Area. Dr. Lieu conducted assessments and treated patients who experienced severe illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, and physical or sexual trauma.
RAMS (Richmond Area Multi-Services) – RAMS is a National Asian American Psychology Training Center. Dr. Lieu treated patients from the San Francisco Asian community who struggled with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, schizophrenia, PTSD, and panic attacks.
Kaiser Permanente – Kaiser is one of the largest HMOs in the Bay Area. Dr. Lieu provided group therapy to patients struggling with depression and anxiety. She also treated individuals seeking help with relationship problems, severe moods, trauma, and challenges related to parenting.
